The Vision

The vision of St. Agnes Parish is to involve young people in youth ministry and into the larger faith community. To call forth their gifts and empower them for ministry to their peers and leadership in the Church. We will strive to support families as the primary educators of their children; through "family-involving" programs and activities and by acknowledging that every member of the community has special gifts, talents, and resources that can enrich what our Church offers. We will celebrate in an atmosphere of Faith, Fun, Family, and Friendship.

Youth Ministry...it takes
an entire Church

"This is what is needed: a Church for young people, which will know how to speak to their heart and enkindle, comfort, and inspire enthusiasm in it with the joy of the Gospel and the strength of the Eucharist; a Church which will know how to invite and welcome the person who seeks purpose for which to commit his whole existence; a Church which is not afraid to require much, after having given much; which does not fear asking from young people the effort of a noble and authentic adventure, such as that of the following of the Gospel." (Pope John Paul II. 1995 World Day of Prayer for Vocations)

Witnesses to the love of Christ

I would like to linger for a moment on three areas of daily life where you, my dear young friends, are particularly called to demonstrate the love of God. The first area is the Church, our spiritual family, made up of all the disciples of Christ. Mindful of his words: "By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another" (Jn 13:35), you should stimulate, with your enthusiasm and charity, the activities of the parishes, the communities, the ecclesial movements and the youth groups to which you belong. (Pope Benedict XVI, to the youth of the world on the occasion of the 22nd World Youth Day, 2007)
